When choosing to publish “Lindacita Sails the Bahamas”, as the flagship product of Amazing Smart Kids, a strongly deciding factor was the appeal to both the young and not so young.
As we are a movement raising awareness and funding for neuroplasticity treatments for families, we aim to include all the family. Mum, Dad and their teenage children can share the reading experience of this book. They can then engage in interesting conversations about their own observations and learning. How can we understand Mum and Dad’s world better ? Is there something missing from what I understand to be the situation ? How can we see the bigger picture of what our child is going through? What new solutions could be applied to problems and issues? Let’s discuss the value of unity in a family – to name a few.
A very experienced school teacher from Geraldton, Terrance Shaw is keen to have “Lindacita Sails the Bahamas” as a teaching and learning aid. He teaches, and has taught over many years, students who do not fit the “mould”. He has great success in using an inspiring book as a way of engaging his students in discussing their personal struggles and ways of overcoming their barriers. His students go on to obtain great apprenticeships and jobs once they have completed their schooling. Terrance is keen to add “Lindacita Sails the Bahamas” to his arsenal of tools.
Many can just simply read “Lindacita Sails the Bahamas” to relax and enjoy and perhaps muse on embarking on an adventure of their own :
“Having read “Lindacita Sails the Bahamas” and being a true story I found it very easy to read and most enjoyable.” Rita June Ferguson
“Lindacita Sails the Bahamas” is a page turner. Full of suspense and dramas, a small yacht is sailed by an adventurous family in the vast unforgiving ocean. Couple with the insecurities, inexperience and high emotions of the thirteen year old protagonist, Linda, this book will appeal to teenagers. Readers can relate to the insecurities of Linda as she tries desperately to prove herself in an adult world. In her case mistakes could be fatal. I highly recommend this great read. Let’s not leave the guys out :
I found this an interesting story of Linda, a thirteen year old girl, with retentive memory problems, which was not understood by her school or parents. Linda’s overbearing and domineering father , bought a 31 ft. sailing yacht, which he decided he, his wife and children would have an adventure of a lifetime and sail to the Bahamas.
